The past two days have been hectic. Ok the past week has been hectic - we've been packing and moving stuff and now finally we're IN!!! We took the day off yesterday and we were up about 7am. Quick pack everything rush rush move Dude, and we didn't get a chance to spray the washmachine (we did open it in the new place and there isn't any sign of an infestation). Rush pack box move shift and then the movers came at 9:30. They were done by about 11:30 or so. They really worked hard, managing to bundle the bed upstairs (scratching themselves against a piece of wood with nails sticking out - it's sposed to have another piece of wood hammered into it with a tapestry in between).
They were done, so we went back to the dump to get the fishtank evacuated. It was quite a procedure, but we managed it in 2 trips. Basically as soon as we got there we started to set it up. It took AGES but it's done. I put them in very late at night cos it took that long. One of the female congos didn't make it though - she died during the night :(
Dude LOVES the new place. I love it too. I am just so impatient for everything to be packed away and put in the right place. And then I want to stitch! Warpony has a place to go now!
Ok, now, about Tuesday! I phoned the jewellery shop at about 16:00 to check whether the ring had arrived and YAY it had! So I said we'd come that evening. We RUSHED out of the flat at 18:20. I phoned from the car and asked the lady whether they could wait for us - they close at 18:45. I said we were 5 max 10 mins away and she said "ok I'll wait"... so we got there at 18:46. They were both shocked that we managed to get there so quickly hehe but we RAN through the mall to the shop. Got it. It fits. It is BEAUTIFUL! It is JUST RIGHT! I love it.
That was Tuesday evening. Yesterday we weren't at work... so today was the first time the ppl at work had seen it. I showed it to a colleague who then promptly went around the entire office telling everyone! Felt SO shy but the fuss is over now LOL!
I'm SO impatient to go home and unpack! We didn't actually unpack much at all yesterday because our focus was singularly on the fishtank - we can sleep on the floor but they can't so that was the thing we had to do. YAY I can't believe it! We're OUT of the dump!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to take pics of the place once everything's unpacked. But, unfortunately, we will not have internet for 6 to 8 weeks so I will only be able to post the pics once we are back online. That is the trouble with a monopoly such as helkom. LING!!!!!!!!!!
Latazzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!

News and overexcitement
We met up with the owners of the new place on Saturday... basically went through the place, asked questions, checked stuff out... got the keys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Basically all day yesterday we moved stuff. We have a few things left in the junkroom to move out... tonight we're gonna start packing things like clothes in the cupboards (except for clothes for tomorrow and Wednesday!)... crockery and cutlery... odds and ends. We have to get packets to put the fish while we transport them. We've got a moving company, they're gonna come at 8:30 to move stuff. We're gonna get up earlier than that though, to evacuate Dude to the new place and then open the washingmachine, microwave and fridge-back to spray the cockroaches. So we will have had to take all the crockery+food+everything out and empty the kitchen before then. G's gonna sand down the kitchen table and paint it either tonight or tomorrow... we're gonna use it as a fishtank table because it's very strong and the shelves below the tabletop can hold the fishfood and equipment and Dude's stuff.
We're gonna have to move the fishtank last on Wednesday... it's gonna be a timeconsuming process. I just hope G'll get the whole day off!
I CAN'T WAIT. The new place is so lovely! I've already staked out a sunnyspot and put a table there ready to stitch! The violet is already by the kitchen window. I've already put a stool in front of the bedroom window to sit and enjoy the view.
We've found lovely barstools to put at the kitchen counter, and also we've got our eyes on a lounge-suite which is both comfy and affordable. It's gonna be SO EXCITING! Wow! I will have to take photos and stuff once we've moved in. It's so quiet. The garden is cute! The yesterday, today & tomorrow plant is in full bloom. There's a jasmine plant... wow!
The wedding arrangments HAHAHAHA it sounds so nuts to type that... it's only November next year but I'm already getting all ideas, which I think is a good idea since time will go so quickly. I've decided on a colour-scheme, have an idea for flowers, got a dress-design in my mind's eye, it's all so exciting and the whole thing is a little daunting because it's such a big thing and lots to organise but I'm sure it'll be a damn fine blast!!!!!!!!!
In other news: DOOSTYD IS OVER!!! Some poor bastard has taken the place! Can't believe it but anyway, at least we NEVER have to do doostyd EVER again!!!!!!!

News updates!
Here's Warpony, circa yesterday before I stitched a bit more!
.JPG)
We saw Transformers last night... It was more fun than I expected (I loved (old) Bumblebee, I want a car like that hehe)... some parts were rather lame but it was enjoyable enough :D
In other news: the ring is away to be resized. It is the 2nd last in the whole country, they only made 12 of its design. Wow! Now after choosing it and everything and trying it on, I feel weird cos it's so valuable and I am of course getting jittery like "will it actually suit me?" and stuff... but I reckon once it's the right size and I put it on, it'll be awesome. It really is beautiful. A ring to last a lifetime!
I got hold of the owners of our new place to organise when we will get the keys to it, to start moving our stuff. We're gonna get the keys on Tuesday, start moving stuff (all the stuff that we alone can move - clothes, boxes, crockery etc etc etc, basically anything we can fit in G's car). I've taken Wednesday off and G will take half day Wednesday. We're gonna get a moving co in to move all the furniture. It's not a lot - bed, 2 desks, 2 chests of drawers, 2 wardrobes, 3 couches... ). Then, from Wednesday we will be LIVING there!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!
I REALLY CAN'T WAIT!
Saturday we're having Synd as per normal - the farewell for X is NEXT Saturday. We're gonna have Synd on Friday next week, at our NEW PLACE! EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK :D

I've had this page open
waiting to come up with something to blog... it's been since about 9am. Nothing's come to mind.
They're getting the ring in from upcountry, it'll be arriving on Thursday so we're gonna check it out on the weekend. I'm SO EXCITED!!
Saturday we're going to X&L's party - X's gonna be in Sweden for 6 months. Might have Synd on the Friday. Saturday morning we're gonna have doostyd, then we're gonna go to the shop to check out the ring!!!
Next week we move. The actual date isn't confirmed (I'm waiting for the owner guy to reply to my email with a date that we can get the keys and start moving). There are 11 days til we've OFFICIALLY moved in... but it's likely that we'll be able to move in before the actual month-end. Can't wait. Need to take a leave day to move everything.
I CAN'T WAIT to be OUT of the DUMP! Everything is so fucking moldy and my allergies are hell. The wash-machine has cockroaches IN IT... we're gonna have to open it up to kill/spray/something drastic to get rid of them. They're probably in the microwave and fridge too. HATE that fucking place with all its fucking problems! Today (as I type this) they're at the flat putting in built-in cupboards. No, they COULDN'T wait 10 days. Fuckers. So G's wasting an entire day there.
I will not clean the place. We're going to be out of there next week sometime, they can HAVE a dirty basin/unvacuumed floor/unwashed floor/unclean sink etc etc etc. Fuck them. Not MY problem if the 'new tenants' aren't happy. *I* don't give a shit. Not doing chores gives me more time to stitch! I was stitching yesterday afternoon right til about 10pm. Warpony looks gorgeous (as usual hehe).
WANNA STITCH!! WANNA MOVE!! WANNA GO GET THE RING!! etc etc etc...
EEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!
We have a LOT of planning to do before November next year - yes, we kinda decided on a date! :D And I've sorta got an idea for a colour theme :D

WTF?!?!?!??!
Today was D-DAY.. Doos-day. Fuckday basically... they came to put in the built-in cupboards... and made a fucking mess. The smell at the flat was so bad the inside of the CAR smelled all gluey from the fumes clinging to G's CLOTHES!
So anyway, they basically arrived at 10:00 and only LEFT at 18:30. Not 17:00... no, apparently they were to work til 18:00. They used the bedroom as a fucking woodworkshop, so there was sawdust EVERYwhere. And they didn't even put the furniture back where it originally was. So WE had to clean up. FOR THE NEW TENANTS. The NEW tenants don't get allergies from the fumes... or raw sinuses from the smell and dust, the NEW tenants don't have to be interrupted with INSTALLATIONS which IMPROVE this DUMP for THEM, the NEW tenants don't have to sit til 18:30 with WORKMEN in their BEDROOM, oh no, WE have to endure it. FUCK YOU PHI. I don't mind saying it over and over. FUCK YOU PHI.
Fuckers!
Oh but what's funny is that they drilled a hole right through the wall through the loo-roll holder brick!
*sigh* FUCK YOU PHI
*sigh*
Dude is high now I guess. Poor thing, I dunno how he survived such toxic fumes. Bastards.
What else is there to blog. Nothing I guess. I'm tired. I'm so tired. Powerlessness tires you out. Is there any payback? Will there be any payback for this SHIT? Bastards getting what is due to them? Mrs Um Green, fuck you, you old crone!

Trrrrrrrrrrring
Kinder Egg, according to the Wisdom of Kit:
"Pull it open and then open the one half and play with the toy and forget the chocolate... and then finish the toy assembly and find the chocolate again and go mmmmmmmmmm"
hehe totally off topic I guess but anyway, what WAS the topic?
Well, on Friday I was "windowshopping" online for bling... teehee calling it that makes it seem less OMG IT'S A RING...................... AN ENGAGEMENT RING GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH like yeah... it's like. Special, not like OMGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH "engagement ring" sounds so clichéd. But ANYway...
so I was looking online and some of them are SO GROSS... totally wrestlers' belts or something you might find in a computer game "collect all the jewels and amulets" CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE COLLECTED ALL 5/5. ON TO THE NEXT LEVEL *tring tring tring ping ping ping*...
So anyway, I found something that I really like, so we went to see if we could find it in the mall nearby. The branch there didn't have it. This afternoon we went to another mall. I'd phoned beforehand to find out whether they have it, and the lady said their area manager was coming in the afternoon and she'd ask her to bring it. But when we got there apparently the area manager hadn't been able to make it. So either they're gonna arrange for her to bring it to us at home after work (I doubt it'd be possible though) or we can go check it out next weekend.
Here's a pic... it's so prettyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :D

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH
Yes, another post titled AAAAAAAAAAH! (or something similar)
LOCOROCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hehe why am I nuts today...
Well loads of stuff has happened the past *week*... only a week. We flew to Durban last Saturday. EEEEEEeeeeeeeeekkk... so exciting and we got to the airport and checked in - "window seat or aisle seat?" "(eeeek! :D) window please!!!"... and we end up sitting in like the only row withOUT a window. Friggin' of course, roll eyes everyone. Hehehe... but anyway, we got to Durban, it's so cool! Collected our hire-car which was about as powerful as a lawnmower. Brand new citigolf, with 30km on the clock, and superweak. We trundled out of the airport, got lost, and went around again back into the airport and out again to get onto the PROPER national road :D
Hurtled along (hey, the car was trying its best I'll have you know ;) ) through to the place we were staying. Cute place, bigger than we'd intended but they'd already had a booking for their smaller place so they moved us to this one which was still available and gave it at basically the same price as the smaller place.
AAHHH it was so nice to be on holiday. No deadlines/times to be places, getting up early (at least to be somewhere at a specific time - like work), anything. Could stay up late and sit around and have a mug of tea just whenever. Strange thing about Durban: the sun comes up REALLY early, but then it goes down super-early too. So it's pitchdark and only 6pm. And then it feels like you've been awake until 3am cos it's been dark for ages and it's only 8pm hehe. Something to get used to obviously, because everyone around there is up and about at 6am!
Heheheheheheheheheh!!!!!!!!
The weather there "sucked" according to G's family and everyone that we spoke to there, but it was still 10C warmer than at home, so no comparison! It rained and was windy and everything, but I prefer that ANY time to the damp chills of the dump(flat) we're in now.
We checked out the big mall there (Gateway), went to the beach a few times, went out to lunch and to a farm (petting farm) with G's aunt+uncle+cousin and his grandparents, went to supper at G's aunt+uncle and cousins... went to the casino & gambled a little bit (it's really not as exciting as it's made out to be LOL). Went to see the Simpsons movie! SPIDER PIG FTW! Went to see the Umgeni River Bird Park (SO COOL) and Ushaka Seaworld (but they closed early so we basically had a 5min run around the aquarium trying to see everything before they closed for some or other reason). It was so cool learning our way around everywhere, checking out where to go on the map and invariably getting there via a totally different route.
All in all a FABULOUS time! We flew back and got a window seat this time, the view was spectacular - once again I am amazed at the size of the land and just how high up we are in the plane... it's eery. Clear skies all the way til I think the edge of the Western Cape... and then the clouds started... growing thicker until it was solid. And then coming in to land, we broke through the clouds over False Bay and it was GORGEOUS! Greeny blue water with patches of shadow from the clouds. Gorgeous!
Got back on Saturday. Took P out for lunch (after fetching Dude + G's car from his Dad's place after getting picked up at the airport by G's dad... ), he'd been flat-sitting, doing DOOSTYD for us... ((((Oh, on Friday, while we were having lunch at the Casino, rental-asses phoned me looking for G, they want to put in built-in-cupboards... can they come on the 20th... ARSEHOLES! SURELY YOU CAN FUCKING WAIT 10 FUCKING DAYS?? Retards!))))
Can't WAIT... we're gonna be out of the place in 17 days (more likely to be fewer days though!)
And in other news: It was G and my 1st year anniversary yesterday! We've been together for 1 year! :D Love you, my Squishy!
G had arranged "secrets" for yesterday... he's been driving me nuts with curiosity and impatience, I've been dying to find out what they are... and yesterday I did!
He gave me a sparkly shiny little paper bag with three wrapped parcels. They had a particular order to them... so I opened the first box. It was quite heavy, and a nice rectangular shape. The kinda shape you get with boxes that contain such things as a 'user manual' hehehhehehehe. It was that kinda box! It was a PSP box!!!!!!!!!!
MAN it's so cute! So funky shiny small little big colourful (the screen is bright), LOVELy little thing!
Then onto the next parcel. Smaller... lighter. Carefully unwrapped it, and it's LOCOROCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO ADORABLE! Waited ages (ok only 2hrs 20mins but I was so excited it felt like years) for the PSP to charge, and it was about 11pm when it was done and then we loaded the stuff on it and put Locoroco in it and WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Hehe, Locoroco is too cute for words!
And the 3rd parcel? Well, that's still a bit of a secret.... all will be revealed soon!

Aaahsum!!!!!
Everything's awesome this week. It's AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH (I'm listening to the Chembros' new album and I LOVE IT! a FUNKy song just started as I am typing... hence the interruption)... aaaaaaaaa...
Things have broken through and improved! It's so cool.
The receptionistRETARD has left. I overheard her on Monday afternoon telling someone that she'd be in late the next day cos she had an appointment. Then she left early, saying she had an appointment. She didn't pitch the next day. It was her last day, but she didn't pitch because (silly silly bosses) she'd been paid on payday along with the rest of us. So basically she stole that day's pay from them. What an absolute bitch. I still hope someone drives over her some day.
Anyway, the new girl who is just temping is very sweet. A very quiet girl, very polite and very small hehe. Such a pleasure (in her own right, not just in contrast to The Lady) to work with.
Sis got transferred back to the library she used to work part-time at before. She's permanent there now, which is very cool cos she loved it there and couldn't stand the library she was moved to and made permanent (a very boring, dull place). So things are good there now. Hopefully everything else will fall into step too.
I CAN'T WAIT: We are off on a week's holiday tomorrow. We fly at 13:40 or so. I CAN'T WAIT! I've already packed most of my stuff, just gotta unpack my work bag and take some things from it in my other bag. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!
There are 28 days until we MOVE OUT! It's so exciting too! I have this extreme wish that after work we could go home to the new place not the current dump. Too exciting! I'm so impatient to just MOVE and start enjoying the new place. To enjoy the sunlight, to sleep late (no flat viewing shit), to enjoy the carpeted bedrooms/staircase, to enjoy the spacious kitchen, to enjoy the little garden, to enjoy the modern bathroom, AAAAAAAAAH I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Hehehe, I must seem like the most impatient person right now but I just am so excited about it.
Needless to say I haven't been stitching much lately... poor 'Pony. Well, when we get back from the holiday, there will be 3 weeks left so maybe I will stitch then. that last week we will be packing everything finally and moving it all so I guess I'll only have 2 weeks to stitch. Ah well, we'll see.
TODAY IS FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The new CDs I bought ROCK!!!! Absolute Garbage (the remix disk is COOL), Suede (it kinda has been sidelined by the ... ) CHEMICAL BROTHERS! Man oh man I'm enjoying this album!!!!!!!!! Also got the Cardigans' First Band on the Moon. Hey... haven't I blogged about this already? AYYYYYYYYYYYY I dunno... well if I have, I'M STILL GLAD I GOT THE ALBUMS!!
*turns ipod up a bit louder*
I probably won't blog again til we're back from the holiday, so til then HAVE A BLAST!!

Accumulated excitement
Lots going on... we didn't take boxes away this weekend, probably will do that this week.
Tomorrow is "The Lady's last day". I can't wait! They have a temp in to learn from the lady, she'll be standing in but I dunno for how long.
Friday was payday. I checked my bank balance and noticed something 'extra' was deposited. I played it safe and didn't go nuts with the money on the weekend. I wanted to see what it was - what amount was on my payslip. It IS a bonus. It sorts out ALL of my debt so now I'm FREE from any debts! FINALLY!
WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
G and I went out on Saturday, had lunch, got a few groceries, I bought a popcorn making machine (a cute thing which uses hot air to pop the corn, it's SO CUTE!!!!!!). Also bought 3 CDs. Suede's 'greatest hits' "Singles", The Chemical Brothers "We Are The Night" and The Cardigans' "The First Band On The Moon". YEEEEEEHAAAAAA!!!! Love them!!!! Didn't realise that the Cardigans had more albums, I thought they only had 3. There are about 3 others, but they don't seem available in SA... Amazon ;);););)
I CAN'T WAIT for Saturday. A week-long holiday in Durban! A plane trip (wheeeeeeeeeee), and a nice self-catering place and just a WEEK OFF! It's taken forEVER for this week to come, and now it's ONLY JUST not here yet. Not long to go!
There are 32 days until we MOVE OUT of the dump. I still cannot believe they installed a 2nd hand basin. It's unbelievable. Regardless... we are moving out. We will have a SUNNY little place with a cute little garden. I CAN'T WAIT.
I guess this blog-post could be summarised as "I CAN'T WAIT!!!" hehe.
I'm so impatient to get things done now. I want to pack for the holiday. I want to pack to move. I actually wish we were moving first, but still, I'm just glad things are going to happen. Also, I want to stitch! Got working on Warpy again, I'm making good progress with him except for the fact that I have such long breaks between stitching! He's looking great. Hopefully I can finish him before we move into the new place. Ok yeah, unlikely but I can try ;)
YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

We're nearing the end
Not in a bad way hehe. Kinda nearing the home-straight.
We had pizza last night. Pretty much huddled in bed all evening, the weather was incredible with insane rain and an awesome thunderstorm hehe. It was amazing.
We move out in 35 days.
Today is payday.
There are just 2 working days til this "lady" leaves. She hasn't been so intolerable today.
There are only 7 days left til we go on holiday.
We have our flights, car and accommodation booked. We are ready to ROCK next Saturday! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
It feels like this evening's gonna be a DVDs and popcorn kinda evening. Sitting snuggled with a blanket, watching movies. It's a pity we can't put the TV in the bedroom cos then we could let Dude hang out/watch with us hehe.
We're gonna drop off some more boxes this weekend, maybe also some clothes (probably summer clothes) that we aren't going to use over the next while.
OH MAN it's just started to hail and it's FREEZING all of a sudden! THIS WEATHER IS NUTS!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Help
I'm going crazy. I'm losing my mind. Everything's going wrong and I just want time out to regain my footing. I am falling down hard and I need to just stop and find my feet, find solid ground. I need time out.
I just want to stop. This ride is going too fast, I want to get off and wait for it to finish. I want 31 August to come and go. I want it to be September already. I want to be free of this POISON rental agency, I want to be able to sleep at night and not be woken up by people shitting or pissing upstairs. Or going up or down the stairs, or slamming the security gate or slamming their door. I can't sleep. I am so exhausted. I just want peace. I want to recover. It's worse and worse, it's all accumulating and going septic.
There is no stability at work too. You think you can go home after work and relax but you can't. You can't, because other people play music so loudly that your head pounds and the floor vibrates. That's the minute you get home. Can't relax after that, can't even go to the loo or take a nap cos it's flat-viewing. There is no peace. Once flat viewing's over it's late, it's night, it's bedtime and they're making noise. They just don't stop. There is no end to it.
Now on top of that, I'm at work. I have a cunt bitch receptionist bastard bloody woman. She hums, and then when I ask her to stop she won't. She hums extra and then puts her phone mp3 player on and clicks her fingers too. So I ask her again louder and more angrily to damn well stop so she's all fucking angry at me. Bitch. That was yesterday. Today, the same thing.
She's leaving Tuesday. Fucking thank the fucking lord. But that's not completely free of stress. They haven't started to interview anyone. They haven't even asked the accountant to put an ad out for a new receptionist. The typist who's been here 30+ years says they're probably going to make me stand in. Fucking no way.
I'll resign. I am NOT happy being told I'm going to be a PA and then being slapped in the face and told no I'm an "admin assistant". Now, EVERY FUCKING THING this woman wants to do, I have to stand in for her. She's late? Fuck me, I'm switchboard. She's going out this afternoon, leaving at 15:30 to go to a CHURCH FUNCTION at 18:00. *I* have to stand in for her. A CHURCH function?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I am so tired. Fuck them with their shitty personnel management. I'm not a PA? So you can pay me less? Thanks. I'll remember that when you ask me to stand in as receptionist. Will you pay me both her salary and mine? Fuck you, you should have been doing that since she fucking started - worthless, useless piece of shit that she is.
This month coming is going to be EXHAUSTING. I'm already breaking now.
We're arguing now. I am sad. I don't want to. We are arguing and it's hurting the most because right now we need each other the most. I just want time out. I am fighting to stay me, but I'm not managing. I just want time out... I don't mean it. I don't want to be angry... I want time to recover and love again. I never stopped. I would never stop.

And now
We were doing detention Thursday evening, and the inspector dude appears out of nowhere to come measure the basin.
He says he's insisted they replace the damn thing, not just re-enamel it - "you'll get a call probably tomorrow to cancel the re-enamelling" - he's going to try find a basin that fits.
At about 18:30 they phoned G and said they "won't be needing access to the flat tomorrow". THANK YOU, "people", for messing us around!
When are they going to be doing this basin-replacement?? I hope it takes that guy 20 years to find a suitable basin!
It is now Saturday morning, and we were doing our detention. It was about 10, and I was brushing my teeth. I heard voices in the flat and when I came out the bathroom, there were three guys in the bedroom - the inspector dude and two others. Measuring the wall. The rental arsefuckers want to put in built-in cupboards. "They aren't going to do that while we're still here are they?!?!" I snap. "No, they'll (probably) wait til you've gone" says the inspector dude. "They'd bloodywell better wait!" says G.
What the hell? What next?? I mean, why aren't we informed beforehand that that guy is going to pop up out of nowhere and intrude?? No, we never know. Ok we don't *mind* that guy cos at least he's not on the rental arsefuckers' side, but STILL, damn it! We'd like to know when he'll strike next!
Last night we went out to the Waterfront to meet up with a Uni-mate of G's, he and his fiance are back in town from Canada. We couldn't find them in the restaurant at first but eventually found them. Right faaaaaaaaar into the restaurant (as far away from the "live artist" as possible I think! That guy was FAR too loud and FAR too "into things" HAHAHA... he had music-video DJ moves down pat).
Had a wonderful time with them and some other mates of G's friend (and sis+sis's G)... had YUM supper and just chatted and enjoyed ourselves. Hearing stories of what life is like in Canada - apparently people leave their cars running while they pop into the shops so that the car doesn't freeze up hehehe! I hope they can come visit again soon :)
I CAN'T WAIT FOR 4 AUGUST!!!! G and I are going to Durban for a week!!!! Car hire is a bitch (so tricky!!!) and we still have to find out about accommodation, but I CAN'T WAIT TO FLY AGAIN!!!!! :D :D :D :D
Little Dude is TOO CUTE. He was fiddling with his waterbowl last weekend, so we put a small bowl with a tiny bit of water into his cage. He had SUCH FUN splashing around - he bathed longer than any other budgie I've ever known. Not afraid of the bowl, not hesitant at all, he basically just jumped straight in.
Apparently kittens and balls of wool go together. Well, a budgie and a piece of string = a lot of entertainment! He managed to pull the whole piece of string into his cage and wind it around his perches.
I CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE INTO THE NEW PLACE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I'm going to put a barstool in front of all the windows, so that I can sit and stare at the view. It hasn't got a STUNNING view but it at least allows you to see the sea/city. This flat/dump we're in has a view of a brick wall+G's car, and the undercover parking+flats next door and about 1"x1" of the mountain. Sucks. It's very depressing. It also gets NO sunlight except for between 15:10 and 15:20 and any sunlight that happens to reflect of someone's window in the next door flat. LOVELY. The NEW place... BOTH the upstairs and downstairs have windows that face north - SUNLIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait to get home in the evening, and sit in the garden with a can of coke. That's gonna ROCK!!!!
Ok - back to stitching, I'm working on Warpy some more. G got news that the work that had a deadline for NEXT Tuesday has to be in THIS Tuesday. Warpony here I come! *evil grin*

WTF
Yes, once more I am forced to blog with a negative tone.
Yesterday evening, while we were doing our flat-viewing detention, someone pulls up just outside our door - a maintenance guy.
"I'm here to check whether the basin and the cistern are the same colour"
WHAT EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
So this morning, G gets a call from the rental arseholes saying they want to re-enamel the basin (which has been broken for the past 6 years according to the inspector guy), will anyone be home during the day today. G told them that we'll be home between 17:30 and 19:30.
They bloodywell CAN NOT come work on the place while we're there. Not during the day, not between 17:30 and 19:30. Not on a Saturday morning between 9:00 and 11:00! It's bad enough that we are sitting through flat-viewing, because we have stuff to do during that time and their coming to fix things would prevent us from doing those things. G carries on working when he gets home (since we have an internet connection he works a lot of overtime), and I have stuff to do around the flat like PACKING and washing up and washing clothes and ironing etc etc! They can honestly go to hell in a handbasket!
I am SERIOUSLY reaching the end of my sanity-tether. I'm FED up with THEIR fucking drunkard tenants, I'm sick of having interrupted sleep because of their fucking drunkards and wankers and bastards who despite our complaints they have done nothing about. I'm seriously getting beyond pissed off. My frustration is converting itself to aggression and anger.
FUCK YOU PHI! FUCK YOU!

*KRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUNG*
I HATE OUR "neighbours". FUCKS that they are. They are such bastard drunkards I can't wait to move out.
Who the fuck SLAMS a security gate? Who the fuck slams a security gate during the night-hours??
I'm so tired of living in this shit-heap, I wish we could move all our stuff out and burn the place down.
We've been packing our stuff, bit by bit, and I emptied out one of our bookshelves and moved it across the room so that it's ready to be relocated. The whole back of the bookshelf (the part facing the wall) is moldy. GAH!!!!!! Fuck this place! Is it not bad enough that the neighbours are arseholes, the wall is moldy/bubbly gross, there are heaps of cockroaches, the basin's broken etc etc? No! Now all our stuff has to be contaminated with MOLD! Fucksake... we can't DUMP all our furniture because it's moldy... shitabrick! We're gonna be taking mold with us into the new place!!!!!!!!
I HATE THIS FUCKING PLACE!!
DON'T EVER RENT OUT A PLACE THAT'S MANAGED BY
PROGRESSIVE
HOUSING
INVESTMENTS!!
FUCKERS!!!
Who the fuck SLAMS a security gate? Who the fuck slams a security gate during the night-hours??

Gargargarharfargar!
I'm BORED. I'm at work. I have nothing to do!
Hbbm is on leave, last week he had us all in a flurry doing stuff (remote-desktopping, as I call it). But this week it's quiet.
I'm bOREd... and what's annoying/aggravating my boredness is the fact that I could do so much if I didn't have to be at work!
Ok besides the obvious "I could stitch!", I could vacuum the flat - it's quite dirty atm. I could pack stuff. I could (ok this relies on G not being at work too) go apply for a supersavings account. I could do SO MUCH but I'm stuck here again.
BORED!!!!!!!!!
I'm busy scheming something... something BIG, but not soon. Something which requires a LOT of planning/work/decisions/discussions/everything. Something major. I'm really excited about it... it'd be fantastic if it worked out well.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I won't say anything more for now... It's just in the pre-pre-pre discussion stage :P
*bored!*... BORED BORED bored. Coffee time I think.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Ok, lemme get this off my chest first:
RIGHT NOW I'M HYPER!!!!!!!!
I have lots of reasons to be hyper.
Ok one (coincidental one LOLLLLLLL) is that the receptionist is leaving. End of next month she's going to another company to be their HR. After a 48hour course in HR. I wish them good luck with her. She's got a very abrasive manner which rubs people up the wrong way.
YAY!
What else is SUPERcool... hbbm is away on holiday, and he hasn't phoned too much. I'm finishing up with some minutes and then I should be fine for a while.
I'm listening to my iPod - CHEMICAL BROTHERS RULE!!!!!!
I am now finished paying off my debt to my sis. We got a little "bonus" this past payday, which I just transferred right across and now I'm FREE!! SUCH a relief!
We put in notice on our current flat - we're sick of the shit of having like a broken basin/shit neighbours/broken EVERYTHING and them not doing a single fucking thing to fix anything.... so we put in notice. Our 2 months of being grounded has begun. Yes, like two teenagers being grounded. We have to babysit the flat for 2 hours every day except a Sunday, so that prospective suckers can view it. Two months. They're sposed to let us know if anyone takes it before the 2 months is up so that we are freed from the viewing-duty, but I very much doubt they'd bother IF anyone actually takes the place - we're being VERY honest about what we think about the place.... ;)
That's exciting news. We won't have to listen to WW2 games at 2 in the morning, or the people upstairs "toileting" (the sound-proofing of the flat is NONEXISTENT... don't think too hard about that), or fighting or drunkenly shouting at each other, or people trotting up the stairs by our bedroom, or ANYTHING!! No more BINRETARD dragging bins past our bedroom window, or sweeping retard sweeping the aforementioned staircase which runs along our bedroom - imagine a wooden broom on cement stairs... banging against the wall as he sweeps along each step.
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA it's gonna be SO GOOD to pull out of that driveway at the end of August and pull a middle finger at everything that building stands for.
Pink block of shit that it is!
Ok now onto some MORE exciting news! We found a new place. A 2 storey townhouse with 2 bedrooms, an AWESOME bathroom (proper shower and separate bath with a MODERN toilet and a new basin with water-mixer = NO FREEZING WHEN BRUSHING YOUR TEETH)... it's got a parking bay just outside it, it has a CUTE little garden, with just enough grass to lie on, we can have braais, it has plants... the place has SUNLIGHT!!!! IT IS SO OMG AMAZING! I am so excited I want to move in straight away!
That's the main reason I'm excited, I think.
Here's my starsign reading for today:
THAT IS SO FUNKY!! YAYYYYY I'm EXCITED but not crazy... erm but I knew that...
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Little Dude is TOO CUTE! I love our little brat birdie! He's so cute and mischievous, he loves playing with feathers in his cage, he's learning more and more things to say, he's SUCH a little character. I wish I could hug him but he doesn't seem to be a cuddly bird.
Gonna post some pics when I get home :D
My fish are GORGEOUS!! Cleaned the tank - the front pane was covered in algae which has bloomed because of the brighter light tube I put into the tank. Now I can see my fish again! They're so cute!
I'm on switchboard duty today during lunch. Sucks balls.
Siff! Someone just warmed up some stinky food... I love having a good sense of smell, but I hate the fact that some people don't realise their food stinks... I mean, come on... how can a samoosa smell nice at 8am?????? Gross!
What else is news. M & J moved into their new flat. Or rather, he did... she's still staying at home for a little longer. Gonna see the place on Saturday.
The weather ROCKS today (did yesterday too) but I'm stuck indoors ALL day til basically sundown. Sucks. And the weather's gonna SUCK on the weekend - typical!
Oh and the post earlier about radio-controlled cars?? We have one now! Got home from work that Monday after feeling really bla and G and I were sort of miffed with each other or just TIRED and frustrated from work. I was reading something in the lounge and he was busy wrapping his sister's birthday present. After an age I got up and went to put something away in the bedroom and saw a little black Merc parked on top of my laptop next to my bed!!!!!!!!!
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! The lights work and everything!! When you stop moving it forward or backward, its brake lights come on, and when you turn the steering left or right, it indicates!! It's TOO CUTE!
Ok lemme post this and WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your feelings may be somewhat uncontrollable today as the Moon in your sign aligns with erratic Uranus. But don't worry; even though you don't feel emotionally stable now, you're really not any crazier than before. Allowing your mood swings to take you for a ride can be quite exciting as long as you don't try to act on every passing whim.

Come ON people, no one died changing a loo roll!

Disappointment, disillusionment
I think I'm feeling a combination of the two.
With life as a whole... this isn't a rant about specific things, or it isn't intended to be.
It's just a blogpost about the (human) world.
How totally mediocre we are. There are great people in the world, who do things and make things with excellence. But they will always encounter the rest of us who do things with mediocrity, and their excellence will get dragged down simply because they had to deal with mediocrity and match up with it so that it works/is accepted into the rest of the world.
Mediocrity is a survival mechanism. You can do something excellently but the outcome/reward for it doesn't justify your effort. Doing things mediocrely (making up a word there hehe) saves you "wasting" time and energy on things that won't benefit you greatly.
It's also a bloody shit condition. Nature doesn't bother with mediocrity... every single thing, from the monstrously huge to the microscopically minute, is excellent... If it's not, it doesn't last very long. Sure you get some squibs and runts and 'special' cases, but on the whole, everything pretty much is perfect. Nature doesn't hash over the details, really. Ants don't just... hang around and sort of collect food, termites don't sort of make a termite mound...
Mediocrity in day to day life is depressing. I don't see why excellence is such an exclusive thing only for those who can pay "a little extra". Take a mattress, for example. You can pay tens of thousands of Rands for a mattress, or you can pay a few thousand Rand for a mattress. Both should be a good mattress. You shouldn't pay thousands of Rands for something and get a shoddy piece of shit, just because you can't afford to pay HUGE sums of money for luxury things. Same goes for clothes, shoes, food, electronic items, so many things come to mind. Decently made things shouldn't be a luxury.
What about an apartment. You can pay millions for an apartment, and it's a tiny, shoddily manufactured hole. Sure it's fitted with "luxury" things, like shiny taps and crisply clean cupboards, but underneath, they aren't so good after all. The crisp, clean cupboard is merely chipboard, the taps discolour and leak after a while, and the ceiling rains in. "That's how things are made these days". If you want something "better" (of a decent, good standard), you have to pay a HELL of a lot money.
You have to be rich even to afford a poor place... you have to be superrich to be able to afford a "nice" place.
Why? Because it's quicker and easier to make a load of junky things and sell them at a huge price than to take the time make something that lasts longer and is more valuable.

Radio controlled car
G and I were at the shops today and popped into a "toy" shop. One of those cool shops with all expensive "toys" like radio controlled cars, model airplanes and stuff.
The cars are SO cool... we were checking out the radio controlled mercs (mercs being my favourites), and there were 3 - 1 was a ready to run McLaren merc with working headlights and everything (but it's an ugly car!), one was an INSANELY expensive kit which included everything like chassis etc and a "body" which was basically plastic (no lights or anything) that you had to paint and decorate with decals. And the third one which was also a pretty much ready to run car but it looked superjunky and very cheaply made (but not cheap to buy :P ).
I'd really like a model car that is a nice shape (not that McLaren car - yucky), with working headlights and cool wheels and proper tyres and all the important stuff like that.
Something REAL looking :D
But it's expensive. Maybe one day.

CDs and learning
The two are unrelated...
There are a few CDs that are coming out soon. I'm not sure whether I want them but I'd like to listen to them:
Dolores O'Riordan (from the Cranberries) - her debut solo album Are You Listening
The Chemical Brothers - We Are The Night
Garbage - Absolute Garbage
And now I'm going to try sit down and learn some HTML...
Hbbm is away today, tomorrow and Thursday so I hope I can study some stuff ;)

Bastards
"Double rapist 'a danger'"
14/06/2007 21:29 - (SA)
Cape Town - A man who raped a teenage girl while he was out on bail pending a trial for the rape an adult woman, was jailed for 15 years by the Cape High Court on Thursday.
Passing sentence, Judge-President John Hlophe told Gerald Engelbrecht, 21: "You are a danger to the community."
Prosecutor Quinton Appels told the court the victim had been only 15, and had been severely traumatised by the incident.
He pointed out that Engelbrecht's raping of the teenager while on bail pending trial for the other rape indicated his contempt for both the court as well as the law.
Engelbrecht had since been found guilty of the first rape, and was presently serving a five-year jail sentence, Appels said.
Because he was no longer a first-time offender, and his victim was under the age of 16, he qualified for a life sentence, Appels said.
'He rapes, then pleads guilty'
The prosecutor told the court that Engelbrecht's cases had a curious pattern: "He rapes, then pleads guilty in court.
"In both cases, he pleaded guilty in the regional court."
The judge agreed with defence advocate Josephine Losch that the fact that Engelbrecht had been a teenager at the time of both rapes had saved him from a life sentence.
He told Engelbrecht: "Presumably, the girl you raped was a virgin at the time."
He said Engelbrecht and the girl had known each other, which meant Engelbrecht had abused her trust in him.
Hlophe said the stigma that rape victims suffer had caused the girl to leave the school she had attended, and had forced the family to relocate.
The judge said he had a duty to protect the community from criminals like Engelbrecht, and it would amount to a failure of duty if he did not jail Engelbrecht for a considerable time.
He said the 15 years in jail would give Engelbrecht an opportunity to rehabilitate and become a better person.
This just PISSES ME OFF SO FUCKING MUCH!!
Ok, these are the bits that make me FURIOUS:

What the fuck??? As if anyone over the age of 15 IS NOT TRAUMATISED BY RAPE?!?!?!? If I were raped, does the fact that I'm no longer a teenager mean that the bastard would get LESS of a sentence?!?!???!

Life change... altered course...
I'm getting desperate now... every day makes it worse.
Now I have to take ALL hbbm's calls, and take messages/put them through if they're important or if it's a call he's been expecting. He explained it this morning, to the receptionist and me... and then he goes upstairs and she mutters "hear that H, all his calls" so snidely. I really am starting to despise her now. But thankfully I'm not the only person she rubs up the wrong way.
I hate this... it's so bloody petty. I hate working like this, with such pettiness... I don't want to sit despising (her), or resenting people, or hating my job. I don't like it... I just want to work, and not have to deal with this fool. Idiot. I despise the way she doesn't quite GET the fact that since she's the receptionist/switchboard person, she CAN'T just go dawdling around the office to speak to people/give them things. Such silly things too, that she could ask them when they next come past.
I may be doing switchboard/reception next week. The whole week. The boss said they'd be thinking about getting someone else in (a temp I guess). Who knows? I'm really looking forward to THAT...!!!
Argh, I hate even just THINKING about it, nevermind BLOGGING about this shit. I hate the fact that it sits in my mind and bugs me ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT... and that I talk about it to G and I feel bad cos I feel like I'm a whining whinging bitchy hag. This job is making me into a moaning minnie and I hate that too.
I so desperately want to leave and just regain myself... revive myself. I can't learn new things in this state of mind. I want to break free of this junk, leave it behind, clear my mind, refresh and revive myself and then take on a new challenge... but I can't. I can't just leave, I need the income... I have no savings, thanks to previously being fucked over. I'm still paying dearly for that. If I wasn't saddled with that, and I had savings, I'd be able to go 'fuck this for a lark' and leave, and study. And live.

That's all folks!
Strange, strange neighbours...
We were up late on Saturday. We'd been to M's (house-sitting) place for our usual hang out... and we got back close to midnight. I for one wasn't really sleepy yet, so we had a snack and read the newspaper for a while before heading to bed at about 2am. G was brushing his teeth, I was in the bedroom getting my pyjamas, and I heard a bumpthump sound and G muttering through toothpaste foam "what the hell?". Went through to the bathroom and asked him what had happened and he said that someone had banged the bathroom window. I went to the lounge (without turning the light on) and peeped out through the gap between the curtain and the doorframe... and saw a guy on our balcony/porch-wall. He was trying to climb up to the above balcony. He must have been REALLY drunk, cos he kept falling and slipping and crashing to the ground. When I got a better look at him (it was rainy and some of the panes in our window are fuzzy), I saw it was the dumbass from upstairs. He'd obviously locked himself out...
G came to see what was going on because he kept banging against the window: he was pretty persistent in trying to get up there, and he kept falling down on/over/against the balcony/porch wall. We weren't keen on opening the door and suggesting he go through the OTHER entrance (there's a stairwell in the middle of the building, a fire-escape sorta thing) but when G opened our front door the guy disappeared. He came back and carried on trying to climb up, bashing himself quite badly. He got a fancy cut on his forehead for all his efforts.
Eventually another neighbour dude came past and asked 'do you need some help?' and the dumbassupstairs dude said 'I just want my beddddddddddddddd...'. That was his only answer to the guy, regardless of what he asked. So this other neighbour managed to climb up into the upstairs balcony and go through the flat and I presume open the door for the dumbassupstairs dude. Luckily the cow upstairs wasn't in else she might've thought they were being broken into and attacked him!!
What LOONYTOONS! He just KEPT ON trying to climb up, over and over and over and over again.
Weird! And it just shows you how, even though you may not be on ground floor, you're still not safe from being burgled!!

What makes a person unmotivated to even blog?
I have loads I want to blog about... loads... a mind full of thoughts and rants and ideas that I want to blog about.
But I just don't feel motivated enough.
*sigh*
Maybe I should point-form what I wanted to blog about and then I might actually get into it.
Ok, I've already ascertained that I need a new job. And I need to study something completely different.
We need a new flat. Our current one is up to shit. The rental agency have done sweet fuck-all about anything that we've told them is wrong. The neighbours are fucktards and I am so wishing I could commit neighbourcide. It wouldn't be difficult, I just have to wait til they do something shit like last night: taking a bath at 23:40, and playing music while they're bathing. Bastard (dunno whether it was the prick or the bitch but it doesn't matter) took about an hour, so basically we had to WAIT until THEY were FINISHED before we could actually go to SLEEP! I'm sick of it. What the fuck is WRONG with people, that they don't actually think "oh, shit, it's 2am, maybe it's not a good idea to play WW2 games at TOP VOLUME..." or MAYBE other people around actually don't enjoy your bathtime tunes... eh?
Our cylinder still leaks, the place is still a playground for cockroach assholes, the lounge/bathroom wall is going damp... erm... lemme not go on with the list, it really IS exhaustive.
Ok now about my wanting a new job. The boss every now and then says that he wants to involve me more and more into his job. It makes me feel ill, because that's the LAST thing I want to do and there's nothing at this stage that I can do to avoid it. I can't TELL him that I don't want to, I can't leave and study... I'm stuck. I feel like one side of my face is being pulled off. On occasion, I've come extremely close (might be to do with PMS... who knows) to just shouting and walking out.
I hate, I am absolutely resentful and annoyed and pissed off and I hate that I'm like assistant receptionist. I hate standing in for *her* (I'm starting to hate her too) when she goes for a piss-break or 'upstairs quick' to chat to her buddies. I wish one (or both) of the bosses would crap her out for leaving her post so damn often. A receptionist-job is not a mobile job, you stay at your desk ALL DAY! But no, that's what I'm here for, to stand in when she takes a stroll...
What I feel like, now, is a break. A long break. I feel cynical and skeptical and irritable and annoyed and I dunno... it just isn't me. I feel desperate, frustrated, powerless, out of control.
I want to lie on the ground and look up at the sky. See just the sky. Sunset, high up clouds, all blues and pinks. Silence, maybe birds/insects and stuff. Just a house, nearby. Coolness after a hot day... no phone, no questions, no answers, no explanations, no requirements, nothing. Living. Quiet. Not for a week, not a month, a long long time.
Sky. I want to lie looking up at the sky, imagining the world upside down. Where you fall into the sky.
But I just don't feel motivated enough.

Blog post
My back is kaput. My shoulders are burning a lot - it feels like a poison dart has got me. I've been stitching for ages today, and I've been online a while too.
And, I don't want to go to work tomorrow.
I'm very tired.
Our Little Dude is very cute, he's growing up and becoming more of a personality than when we just got him.
Saw Pirates of the Caribbean last night... it was very cool. Very weird and strange and complicated and stuff... but it was cool. Keira Knightly is annoying though, pouting unnecessarily. And Orlando Bloom is hard to take seriously... he's just too nice.
And I nearly got my eye poked out by a teenage twerp who was busy trying to hump his pal who was blocking their row of seats from exiting. People are so braindamaged at times.
To do list for the week:
Clean fishtank

Crossroads approaching....
I've been intensely frustrated lately. You know the feeling when a change HAS to happen but for some reason, it can't happen yet because things aren't right.
I really need a new career. I'm currently an "admin assistant" which in itself is shit enough. But lately, my 'boss' has been trying to bring me more and more into a PA role. And I hate it.
Putting aside my resentment for being (ok conned is a strong word, but, well, not even mislead) into thinking I was going to be a PA (I should have known better), I am finding that I actually can't stand doing PA things.
Phoning people and putting them through for boss, taking phone messages and pencilling in meeting times in his diary, answering phonecalls and scheduling times for meetings, printing his emails, booking flights, all that stuff.
I hate it when people phone and ask to speak to me because I'm "his assistant". They think I know what he's busy with/thinking about/what his opinion is on something/who he spoke to/what he said on page 3 in a letter 25years ago, etc etc etc.
I hate phoning other people's medical funds to find out why they stopped paying for something they paid for last year, it's like, I have my own medical fund which *I* have to phone myself! If I had a wife at home, I'd ask her to do it, not someone at the office. I dunno, it seems so lazy to me. Regardless, I hate it and I am not enjoying working like this.
I need a new career.
I am stuck for now, though. I have no money to study, which means I would have to work for a while longer before I could save anything to use for studies. I still owe my sis some money. I also don't know what I'd study. But I want to get out... I don't want to be here at the end of the year. The fact that I would have to stick it out here til I have enough to pay for studies is really depressing.

FUCK OFF ALREADY! If I didn't want to read the goddamn joke punchline, why would I even have opened the email? I would have pressed "delete", moron. Chirpy little stupid pointless annoying comments with the only purpose being to ANNOY!!!!

SIGHHHHHHH
It is Friday.
Today sucks.
The lady went off sick with a headache. Shame. Now I'm doing reception. Sucks big bloody eggs.
I am SO TIRED of this job, this place, this situation, everything. I'm sick of (painfully) overhearing the fax machine NOT WORKING and her NOT DOING ANYTHING about it. It tires me so much to keep wanting to pop my head over the board and say "it's not working... you have to actually feed the paper through if it doesn't feed automatically". Anyone with half a brain would GET the concept. That is how the thing works. It is old, but it still works. It just takes a little more effort that "I am too stupid to learn about this".
Stupid.
WTF. Boss phones me: organise a platter for 7 people for this afternoon.
WTF? Where? How? Who? The fucking tealady usually goes IN THE MORNING to buy stuff to make the platter, you're telling me this 2 hours before you need it?!?!??! This ain't going to be cheap, buster. It's 14:30!!! It's gotta be ready for 16:45. On a Friday?!
Other boss ("my" boss) phones in from his meeting/travels to/between meetings to ask me to phone around and book a table at a restaurant for Sunday lunch for 7 people. Sunday is MOTHER'S DAY. Today is FRIDAY. It is A BIT LATE isn't it!!
What else pissed me off. Yes, the "I hate cats" post was because we came home to find a mauled pigeon on our front porch/balcony. The cat was hovering around all proud of itself despite my swearing at it and chasing it away. I would have stamped behind it til it ran up a tree or something had I not been concerned for the pigeon. We put it in a box and brought it into the lounge. It had feathers ripped out of one wing, the other wing had a flesh wound but neither seemed broken. Its leg seemed kaput though, it was limp and the pigeon couldn't move it. I gave it water and seed, but it wasn't very thirsty or hungry, it just wanted to sleep. It died overnight.
What made me upset was the fact that I'm paranoid that some shit-head might hear our (quiet) budgie from outside and unhook one of the windows off its latch and stick a cat through into our flat. Every day when we come home I peep around the flat from the outside to see if the windows are the way I left them, and that day I found the pigeon.. LOVELY! Cats can fuck right off!
What else got on my NERVES this week... I had a cold. I've got a croaky voice still and I cough a bit still which pisses me off cos it sounds like I'm choking to death.
Hmm... what else.
I wanted to go book an appointment for my learners' licence tomorrow but the stupid centre is having a "system upgrade" so I'll have to go next week.
Dunno. I want to stitch. Warpony is getting closer and closer to being finished.
It's 4pm now and I want to go home.
What else has been annoying me this week? I can't think of anything specific but I have been annoyed this week...
Lemme sign off with Status: ARGH!!

"Why I Hate Cats"
By John Melia
"Daily News", Sunday, May 25, 1980
"Cats. They make me sneeze, wheeze, snort, cough, choke. My eyes run, my nose runs, and I leave rooms when a cat is present.
I don't like cats, I abhor cats. I detest cats.. They're extremely unfriendly, conceited and all around boorish individuals.
And those meows! How the good Lord in His wisdom could let a sound like that on this green earth mystifies me.
And the sound from their nocturnal amorous forays? Well, as they say, it's enough to raise the dead. Or the living for that matter. I distinctly recall waking in a cold sweat on many night, a condition undoubtedly induced by those eerie, preternatural wails that emit from feline throats.
But enough.
Let's get down to specifics; let's try for some objectivity here. Lets examine the domesticated cat in his habitat.
The first thing one notices upon entering a domicile where a cat is present is the smell that permeates the residence. Now I'm told that it isn't the cat that smells but rather the litter box where the poor cat must answer his natural call. In my experience one usually finds this commode in the kitchen, next to the cat's eating bowls, or in the bathroom, where human beings perform their ablutions.
Needless to say, any right thinking person finds this extremely distasteful.
The food that cats consume can be equally stomach turning. Raw hunks of liver, stinking plates of fish and sometimes perfectly mephitic comestibles of soya mash and assorted manmade fillers doused with water and left to stand hours on end.
I have figured out that one reason why cat food becomes unappetizing is that cats are slow eaters. They can stretch one plate of food the clock round. From dawn to dusk, darting in and out of the eating area for a quick munch. They sure do make that food last. All of which would be quite commendable if cats were known for thrift, but in my recollection, thrift is not an attribute of cats, even from the most devoted, anthropomorphising cat fancier.
And that's another thing. Cats always climb around on human eating surfaces. You know it and I know it. It's either the kitchen table or the dining room table or the cupboard. Even in the middle of a meal. I've seen a cat jump right onto the table, swishing its tail gaily and ever so nonchalantly depositing its hair on everyone's plate as it sashays by.
Now let's move into the living room where it seems the cat gains no greater pleasure than popping onto a lap just as the clam dip has come by and one is poised with lip aquiver for a taste. It's then that the cat pounces and said clam dip falls miserably short of its mark and dribbles down one's chin.
Push the cat away and it comes back for more. Get rough with it, and out come those claws to rake your arm, draw blood and raise welts on the skin that can take hours- even days - to disappear. God forbid if you take a swipe at that lowly cousin to the King of Beasts. That's when every cat lover in the room comes out of the woodwork , calls the ASPCA and turns you in for animal abuse. When it was all a case of self-defense in the the first place.
Finally, we have the cat in the bedroom. If it's not sitting your head, then it's purring incessantly in your ear. And if it's not doing either of those things, then it's trotting out the catnip for a quick game a 4 AM and even with its superior night vision, sometimes that old catnip gets a knock that lands somewhere in the vicinity of your nose. Swap! Your nose is in shreds, the catnip is now across the room and the wretched cat is gamboling after it.
That's what I think of cats.
If I had more time and space, I'd get on to cat lovers. The funny thing about that is that nearly all my friends own cats, know my view, and sill invite me to their homes."
Ok I'm not THAT allergic to them, but I agree with everything else. And another thing, which this guy didn't go into: why cats kill things. They don't eat the things they catch, and they crap in other people's gardens and go into other people's houses.
Why should people who have pet birds/mice/hamsters and stuff have to fear a cat coming in and killing their pet?

Don't feel like work.
I don't feel like cockroaches either.
One just crawled in the washmachine through the soapdoor.

More starsign stuff LOL
The greatest of your gifts are love, compassion and generosity — and you heap them on your family and friends with abandon. Your sensitivity to people and your pastoral spirit make you a spiritual leader to many and just a plain mensch to many more. The tender, loving care you emanate without thinking twice is a tribute to your search to derive meaning from the contradictions between reality and dreams. Clearly, you're on the right track. You get depressed pondering the colossal questions of the vast universe because it makes you feel so insecure and inconsequential. Ultimately, your real value may correlate highly with your perceived value. You may not realize your full potential in this life, but your life has obvious meaning in the here and now — meaning measurable by realized potential. Look deep inside yourself, Pisces. What lies before you and beyond you are small matters compared to what lies within you. Don't be overwhelmed by the enormity of the universe. And don't be reclusive. Seek the company of the living, loving and learning. Only then can you put your intuitive, virtually psychic powers to work for the good of humanity. If you don't hear your calling, find a quiet space and keep listening. In matters of the heart, you learned that being a hopeless romantic ain't for sissies. Anyone who doesn't return your love doesn't deserve it. You deserve better.
Pisces/Taurus match (according to skyviewzone.com)
SUN in PISCES with TAURUS Both of you are basically tolerant, easy-going, soft and peace-loving people, and this goes a long way toward maintaining harmony in your relationship. Pisces really appreciates Taurus's steadiness and dependability, while Taurus responds to Pisces' gentleness, kindness, and sympathy. However, there are also very basic differences between you: Taurus seeks clear and simple answers, and approaches life in a pragmatic, down-to-earth manner. Taurus has clear preferences and dislikes, and has very predictable tastes. Taurus seeks tangible and clear results from any effort. Pisces, on the other hand, is more eclectic in approach, and is sensitive to a wider spectrum of ideas and feelings. Pisces is less rational, more emotional and intuitive, more willing to accept ambiguities and complexities than Taurus.
NEWS!
I am currently working with a slow-brain. I have a blocked up head, I think it's a cold so I feel pretty grotty. I'm in bed now, blobbing with my laptop and reading Geri Halliwell's biography.
I've been itching to blog since yesterday morning but felt to blaaaaahhhh to do it. I'm going to try now.
On Friday (a public holiday), K, sis+herG, Squishy/G and I went to Design4Living. It was a rainy floody day, but it was fun and we had a good time. Everyone came to hang out at our place afterwards for various yum hot drinks.
Saturday we met up with G's parents, then rushed around doing various things, went to a mall and checked out the motor show (nice cars!). I FOUND DMC3865!!! Seems like the last skein in the whole country LOL. That evening we just chilled and stuff. Sunday we blobbed... I think we did all chores then. Monday we went to various shops for stuff. I got aquarium plants and a snail (my snail had died recently). Chilled then too. I think I stitched sometime during the weekend hehe.
Tuesday we were up early (for us on a weekend!). I felt a bit of a scratchy feeling in my throat so I nuked myself with Infludo drops (I DIDN'T want a cold grabbing hold of me... but alas, here I am *sniff*). Went to sis's G's place, met him and sis up and trekked through to the racecourse to the my coke fest! Got there nice and early, got our Golden Circle wrist bands, checked the place out. I got 3 cool button badges. It was very very funky. The porta-potties were shit though (no pun intended) - they were REALLY disgusting, what portapotty isn't? Some of them were short drops (there was no flush mechanism, just a seat over the tank where all the *$%#@%*&()_ accumulates CHARMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
ANYway, onto more *nice* things... the music started at midday... it was Bed On Bricks (cool), then Dirty Skirts (cool), then Taxi Violence (don't remember, I think we went to get Tshirts then), then Love Jones (the lead singer had a PINK Hello Kitty guitar *pukes* - they were alright), then the Springbok Nude Girls who were cool but I can hardly remember/I had other things on my mind at that point because there were superdrunk (guy-)people near to us who were falling all over the place, mock-humping each other etc, and then another dude nearby puked - LOVELY). Him and his friend were really out of it and kept standing in the puke/mashing it into the mud. GROSS MAN!!
Anyway, we moved back quite a bit at that point. Then it was the Parlotones which I didn't see cos I was getting food with G. Then we went back in and it was Staind... they were pretty cool. Then it was 3 Doors Down which the group of us (we met up with W&S there) sat out (our ears and legs needed a break). Went back in for their last song, Loser, which the lead of Staind came out to sing with the lead of 3DD. Awesome!
Then it was a nice long break and loads of anticipation and then BOOM! It was Evanescence! BLOODY AWESOME WOW HECTIC YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! They rocked!! Her voice is incredible, how she can reach all the notes without any mistakes or waivering. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Unforgettable! We were quite far back at that point, but we could see more of the stage than we could before even thought it was smaller. We could also see the 3 big screens too.
What an awesome day!!!! It was quite nuts getting back to the car and leaving the parking area... it was very uncontrolled but we got out without an incident. Dropped sis and herG off and his place then came back home and GLOWED! My face got a bit sunburnt. And my throat felt the same.
The next morning, the cold had properly set in. Yesterday was an ORDEAL. I had NO WORK at all, cos my boss is away. He phoned to say he's coming back on Friday cos his flight was delayed/mixed up. I stayed home today cos I feel like crap, with a head full of goo, and I would have died sitting at work doing buggerall like this. I hope I feel better tomorrow, cos that's when the boss is back and will probably be in a madrushrushrushchaos run after getting back.

What element are you?

You're ice! You can be very cold and distant and you are NOT a people person. You're pretty mean but you can be nice...to a select few.
What element are you?
What planet are you?

You're Jupiter! Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun and by far, the largest planet in the solar system. It is the named after the Roman king of gods. Jupiter has a great red spot which is big enough to hold two Earths. Jupiter has rings but they are very faint and small. Jupiter has 63 known moons...way too many to list.
