We were doing detention Thursday evening, and the inspector dude appears out of nowhere to come measure the basin.
He says he's insisted they replace the damn thing, not just re-enamel it - "you'll get a call probably tomorrow to cancel the re-enamelling" - he's going to try find a basin that fits.
At about 18:30 they phoned G and said they "won't be needing access to the flat tomorrow". THANK YOU, "people", for messing us around!
When are they going to be doing this basin-replacement?? I hope it takes that guy 20 years to find a suitable basin!
It is now Saturday morning, and we were doing our detention. It was about 10, and I was brushing my teeth. I heard voices in the flat and when I came out the bathroom, there were three guys in the bedroom - the inspector dude and two others. Measuring the wall. The rental arsefuckers want to put in built-in cupboards. "They aren't going to do that while we're still here are they?!?!" I snap. "No, they'll (probably) wait til you've gone" says the inspector dude. "They'd bloodywell better wait!" says G.
What the hell? What next?? I mean, why aren't we informed beforehand that that guy is going to pop up out of nowhere and intrude?? No, we never know. Ok we don't *mind* that guy cos at least he's not on the rental arsefuckers' side, but STILL, damn it! We'd like to know when he'll strike next!
Last night we went out to the Waterfront to meet up with a Uni-mate of G's, he and his fiance are back in town from Canada. We couldn't find them in the restaurant at first but eventually found them. Right faaaaaaaaar into the restaurant (as far away from the "live artist" as possible I think! That guy was FAR too loud and FAR too "into things" HAHAHA... he had music-video DJ moves down pat).
Had a wonderful time with them and some other mates of G's friend (and sis+sis's G)... had YUM supper and just chatted and enjoyed ourselves. Hearing stories of what life is like in Canada - apparently people leave their cars running while they pop into the shops so that the car doesn't freeze up hehehe! I hope they can come visit again soon :)
I CAN'T WAIT FOR 4 AUGUST!!!! G and I are going to Durban for a week!!!! Car hire is a bitch (so tricky!!!) and we still have to find out about accommodation, but I CAN'T WAIT TO FLY AGAIN!!!!! :D :D :D :D
Little Dude is TOO CUTE. He was fiddling with his waterbowl last weekend, so we put a small bowl with a tiny bit of water into his cage. He had SUCH FUN splashing around - he bathed longer than any other budgie I've ever known. Not afraid of the bowl, not hesitant at all, he basically just jumped straight in.
Apparently kittens and balls of wool go together. Well, a budgie and a piece of string = a lot of entertainment! He managed to pull the whole piece of string into his cage and wind it around his perches.
I CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE INTO THE NEW PLACE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I'm going to put a barstool in front of all the windows, so that I can sit and stare at the view. It hasn't got a STUNNING view but it at least allows you to see the sea/city. This flat/dump we're in has a view of a brick wall+G's car, and the undercover parking+flats next door and about 1"x1" of the mountain. Sucks. It's very depressing. It also gets NO sunlight except for between 15:10 and 15:20 and any sunlight that happens to reflect of someone's window in the next door flat. LOVELY. The NEW place... BOTH the upstairs and downstairs have windows that face north - SUNLIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait to get home in the evening, and sit in the garden with a can of coke. That's gonna ROCK!!!!
Ok - back to stitching, I'm working on Warpy some more. G got news that the work that had a deadline for NEXT Tuesday has to be in THIS Tuesday. Warpony here I come! *evil grin*
