it's already started, there are just 4. I really cannot wait. We've
pre-packed to a degree: we've realised that with other-G's goodie bag
we'll need to take a checked-in bag, but that's ok, as we'll be able
to take non-handluggage things (like razor, etc) then. I just hope my
flippin' handbag is fixed ASAP, they promised it for Friday past, but
then when I phoned, the lady apologised and said they can have it for
me by Wednesday, as they need to build-up the handles.
Friday I was off sick. Phoned in and left a voicemail, made a
doctor's appointment. The typist then phoned and left a voicemail for
me at 9, saying madam has left a message saying she's 'coming late'*
and they can't get the switchboard open. Lovely. So I phone back to
give instructions, and when the typist asks where I am, I say I'm off
sick and I've left a message...
Today I get in and the typist gives me a rundown of what went on on
Friday: switchboard only got opened past 9, typist didn't KNOW
receptionist wasn't coming in until about 9 because she hadn't checked
her cellphone for smses. Director was all in a flap because the swb
wasn't opened, hbbm was all in a flap because typist was at swb and I
was away, etc. Apparently he went and ranted at 1 director about
receptionist being 'awol' and he said he doesn't mind when employees
have personal crises they have to sort out. That obviously didn't
satisfy hbbm, because he then went to rant at other director (the one
with empathy/compassion issues) and that guy told accountant to
request receptionist to put in leave for the hours she was away. But,
then when madam DID get to office, she then asked that boss whether
she could be away for a few hours on Tuesday (tomorrow) he said 'sure,
just ask (me) or (typist) to stand in' (no mention of taking the time
off as leave). Lovely.
Just to clarify: * On Thursday I overheard madam phoning to confirm
her 'appointment' at 8:30 on Friday morning, so I knew she wasn't
going to be in. But, being off sick (legitimately) surely trumps
going 'awol' and taking liberties (she didn't ask beforehand). But
anyway, I reckoned/assumed that the time off on Tuesday is for another
interview, and subsequently overheard her phoning someone who she'd
used as reference saying 'if they phone, please give them nice info'
etc. So, perhaps madam has a new job lined up? Then guess who will
most likely become receptionist-cunt in her place?!?!?!? ^.^ ME of
course!!!!!!!!
There are 90 days until I am free. I haven't blogged since finding
out but apparently I am unable to take leave during my notice period,
so I won't be able to skip the goddamned office lunch on my final day.
I'm currently weighing up whether I want to endure it or resign to
end at the end of November... but it's an extra paycheque for 11 days,
as opposed to 21... Dunno. I don't know anything anymore.
